KindnessI am so proud to be an Albertan. The natural disaster in southern Alberta has brought out the strength, kindness and compassion in so many people.

One of my dear friends, Debi Stephenson, spear headed a request for grad dresses and the response has been overwhelming. Now she needs to get the message out that they have more than enough dresses. Please read her message below and pass it on to as many people as you can.

In this difficult time, miracles are popping up everywhere.These miracles are something to share with your children. Let them hear these good stories.This helps them to feel safe and reduce their anxiety.

I would love to hear about more miracles. Please feel free to email me with any good news you would like to share.

Hi Nola;

My name is Debi Stephenson and am the Mom that spear headed the request for grad dresses for the High River 2013 Grad girls. (You may or may not have heard). Well it has gone global and we are now trying to let as many people know, that we cannot accept any more dresses as we have hundreds where I work on site!

I was told by a parent that called me directly, that you were putting lots of valuable information regarding the flood on your site, and so I thought I would ask if you could post this so the word gets out there. This is what I have wrote.

ATTENTION: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ

I would like to take this opportunity to Thank everyone from far and wide that have called me directly with their generous offers, donations, support, and kind words. I have had hundreds of calls, from as far away as the NWT to our neighbouring town of Nanton. (who’s grad is tonight).

What started out to be a Mom who was collecting dresses for the girls has turned global. We have hundreds of dresses and accessories for the Highwood High School Grad girls and we will be trying to get together for a fitting hopefully next weekend.

The grad date is slated for August but that is not yet set in stone.Through this collection, I have been given the opportunity to get phone calls not related to grad, but support for the Town of High River and its residents.

If someone with the Town of High River is available to talk further, I would appreciate a call at: 403-646-2218/daytime or 587-777-0058/cell.

These are offers that are large and would fit the weeks and months to come. Again,Thank you from the bottom of my heart and again I’m so proud to be born and raised in Alberta.

Thank you

Debi Stephenson
